Who is on Con Committee this year? Is it open? I've been talking to some folk who used to love coming to E-con, and say that it lately, has sucked hard.

Why not fix it? I'd be willing to put in some work to get our numbers up and our guests happy again.

    Mid 90's e-cons anyone?

While we have started preparing for it already, there is not as of yet a committee. We have business meetings at 5:30 on Saturdays, so if you would like to mention something they are a good opportunity, otherwise you can talk to Kieran or myself.

Enthusiasm is far more than welcome. Econ seems to be a bit of an enigma to me so far. While on one hand it seems to be all we have paperwork from from past years I've also been able to get somewhere between little and no actual useful data from it. So if you want to get involved there is definitely going to be room for you to pitch in.

Okay, I agree with Alan's assessment of Con for the last couple years...majorly sucking. I cannot believe that you do not have a committee together yet. Mid-90s con committees started meeting two weeks after the con ended. Sorry to the pres and vice prez that you have been given so little information.
I do have a couple suggestions based on the last couple years:

    1) Move the auction out of a game slot. It keeps people from gaming, their first priority, and keeps people away from your auction. Besides, it's been small enough in recent years that the dinner slot is perfectly long enough.

    2) Get rid of event fees. I saw them added last year and they offended my soul. Good solicitation of game companies should be key to getting prizes, not buying them.

This Saturdary (the 25th) we are going to have a BIG meeting about econ and other things. So those with suggestions are encouraged (read begged) to come and help out in the discussion and are definitely welcome to take an active hand in running/working on the con from here on out.

So if your interesting in the con 5:30pm in the ren room, and don't miss it. ^_^

Scott Thorne sent me an e-mail that said ". . . if the con wants any RPGA events run, I can get them but someone will have to co-ordinate and judge. Based on past experience, probably at least 4 people to run 3-4 slots of events." Would anyone be interested in running an RPGA event?
